Always an inspiration, my mother competes on a team comprised of soley cancer survivors. These women are armazing showing the world that cancer won't slow them down.
Intermission included a 60's themed dance party! It worked--they won the "Spirit Award" at the festival!
The Team
Luminosity 5K
In honor of my mom, her co-worker put together a Luminosity 5K for her with all proceeds going to her Dragon Boat team. The team makes blankets and then hand delivers them to chemo agencies in the area. The first Annual Luminosity 5K was complete with candle-lit milk cartons anchoring glow in the dark balloons lighting the path and plenty of glow sticks and black lights to go around. We had 70+ people turn out and raised over $1400! Thanks to all!
